Your Habits Create Your Life
Habits are the most important factor in your success and who you are. Bad habits lead to bad results. Good habits lead to success.
Your habits include your thoughts, responses, choices, and activities throughout your day. These habits define you as a person.
Basic Habits for Success
- Sleep on time
- Rise early
- Encourage yourself
- Eat properly
- Plan your day
- Focus on work
- Exercise
- Reward yourself
- Track your habits
Sleep and Wake Consistently
Sleep and wake at consistent times everyday! This allows your body and mind to de-stress, recover, and prepare you physically and mentally for the upcoming day. Your biological rhythm and efficiency works best when rest and recovery is predictable. Everything follows cycles and you want to take advantage of the cycles instead of fighting against them. Get your sleep cycle right and everything else will be much easier.
Encourage Yourself
Encourage yourself! No one else will. Your self worth is very key to your success. Most of the things you do are not driven by necessity. They are driven by the value you put on yourself. You are worthy. You don't need to have things or have done things or have reasons to be worthy. You are worthy as you are. Act because you are worthy. Act because it follows your own plan in life. You need to remind yourself of this several times during the day. You are worthy!
Eat Properly
Eat properly! You are a physical being. Your mind and body needs the appropriate foods in the right quantity to function effectively. Eat foods that help your mind think and focus and give your body energy and healing. You must create a physical equilibrium that allows you to strategize and execute your plans to achieve your goals.
Plan Your Day
Plan your day! You have needs, desires, and dreams. Planning your day means determining what your priorities are, the best way to achieve those priorities, and the actions that need to be done in order to satisfy your needs, desires, and dreams. We often do things because that's what we've always done. Planning your day allows you to assess where you are and adjust course or set a course of actions to be successful.
Focus on Your Work
Focus on your work! You must apply yourself meaningfully to your work. Work takes up a good chunk our mind, body, and time. It's easy to get distracted, discouraged, bored, lost. Find the reason in your work. The reason needs to be important to you. Money, fun, self fulfillment, helping others? Remind yourself of this reason and apply yourself.
Exercise
Exercise! Keep that body fit. It will help you weather the storm. Stress (physical or mental) can come at unpredictable times. A physically fit body will help you deal with these momentary disruptions. A fit body provides the foundation for an active mind and endurance to execute to achieve your goals.
Reward Yourself
Reward yourself! Many goals require days, weeks, or months to achieve. You must give yourself rewards in order to keep a good attitude and willingness to continue. You are human and your attention is short and your motivation not that much longer. Give yourself that latte or cookie or time on social or youtube. Tell yourself you are awesome and that you've got this! Enjoy your reward so you can resume your path to success and achieve your bigger goals.
Track Your Habits
Track your habits! It's important to create and track daily the habits you want to adopt. This will give you a quick glance of what you've done during the day and what you need to do. Doing these habits will ensure you improve as a person and learn what works and doesn't work and produce more success.
